The Chairman of the Presidential Task Force on Economic Revival in Sri Lanka is encouraging fruit drink manufacturers to increase production.
He proposes to reduce products tax to encourage the export of their products.
Fruit and vegetable juices are in great demand in other countries, including Europe. If export are increased, the living standards of the local farming community can also be improved.
He said it that if fruits and vegetables are exported already processed as juices, this will help to achieve export targets. The government will maintain the incentives for exports.
