The increasing appetite for pizza in Asia is helping to increase mozzarella export sales for South Australia’s largest cheesemaker.

the manufacturer recently closed a deal to export 1000 tonnes of mozzarella a year from its factory near Adelaide. It will be used by a pizza chain in China.

Mozzarella exports have grown from AU$2.5 million in the 2018-19 financial year and are expected to attain $18 million this financial year.

Despite the COVID-19 Pandemic, the company should exceed revenues of $100 million for the first time this financial year.

This is the first financial year that exports to South East Asia including Malaysia, Philippines, South Korea, Japan and now China have blossomed.
