The value of Swiss chocolate exports was over $1.05 billion for the first time in 2019. The was increased demand for imports of chocolate from Canada, the United States, China, the Middle East and Singapore.
Almost 75% of sales were exports, a proportion that increased slightly from 72.5% in 2018 to 73.7% last year.
The European Union is the dominant market but increases in export sales was more significant outside the EU.
