The EU’s fruit and vegetable imports from Morocco grew by 4% in 2019 compared with 2018, totaling 1.4 million tons, while Spain’s imports from Morocco increased by 8%.
EU imports of Moroccan vegetables amounted to 859,095, with tomatoes making the biggest proportion. Fruit imports stood at 533,065 tons, dominated by watermelon and oranges.
Inside the EU, Spain is one of the main destination markets for Moroccan exports. In 2019, Spain imported 10% more Moroccan vegetables than in 2018. Fruit imports were 4% more.
