Although the government of China is predicting an increase in China-made car exports in the future, exports of finished vehicles in November 2019 only accounted for 3.2 per cent of the 2.6 million vehicles manufactured in the country.

Car exports had been expected to fall by about 5 per cent, as exports to the United States fell drastically because of the US-China trade war.

American car manufacturers like GM and Ford Motors have had higher import tariffs imposed on them, so exports to the USA have been reduced, the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers said in October.
