Although domestic sugar production in India during the current 2019-20 crushing season fell by 30 per cent, mills have signed sugar export contracts worth 2.5 million tonnes so far.
Quoting market information, Indian Sugar Mills Association (ISMA) said on that sugar export contracts of 2.5 MT had been signed by mills in respect of their admissible export quantity (MAEQ).
The Centre is reviewing actual exports against MAEQ during October–December 2019 quarter.
