Exports of burgundy increased in volume and value in the period October 2018 – September 2019.
88.1 million bottles in total worth €1bn were exported. Global demand for Burgundy and rising prices generally contributed to these record figures.
The increases applied in nearly every major export market.
The UK is Burgundy’s second biggest export market but showed the lowest growth. Hong Kong and Japan saw good growth in value.
Exports figures have been very much helped along by some better-sized harvests across the region.
