In 2018 Chile exported a total volume of 360 thousand tons of citrus.
88 percent of the production is exported to the U.S.A., followed by Asia with 8 percent. The sector now aims to diversify its exports and improve the strength of Chilean citrus in various markets, including China, which is a very demanding import market. Exporters are investigating the markets preferred citrus varieties and consumer requirements in terms of quality and sweetness.
