The UK Government has said that a revised import tariff regime would come into force if there is a no-deal Brexit. 88 per cent of total imports by value would be eligible for levy free access.
Britain also said under a new “exceptional review process” changes could be made to the import regime from day one if needed.
“The UK is a free trading nation and British business is in a strong position to compete in an open, free-trading environment,” Trade Policy Minister Conor Burns said.
