Melton Mowbray pork pies are at the centre of a dispute about British exports.
Boris Johnson said at the G7 meeting in Biarritz that pork pies are exported to Thailand and Iceland, but cannot be exported to the US due to import restrictions. But the Melton Mowbray Pork Pie Association said the pies were not even exported to Thailand and Iceland.
Downing Street insisted that pies were exported, although one producer said it has previously exported a “tiny amount” of pork pies to Singapore.
The chairman of the Melton Mowbray Association said “It is certainly available in Iceland the shop.”
