Exports of Passenger cars assembled in Korea rose 6.1 percent in the first half of 2019, compared with the previous year on the back of strong demand from the North American market.
Korean carmakers shipped passenger cars with a combined value of US$19.8 billion during the January-June period, according to data compiled by the Korea Customs Service (KCS).
Over this period, South Korea’s imports of passenger cars decreased 19.6 percent to $4.8 billion, or 140,000 units.
