Romania had the largest corn crop in EU in 2018 but has increased its corn imports in Q1, 2019 by 17%.
The country imported over 173,000 tons of corn, costing over 68 million euros, but only 149,143 tons of corn were imported in Q1, 2018.
Wheat imports grew by 89.9% to 197,183 tons and other imports of farm produce are have increased significantly.
