Turkey has decided to halve the additional duties on U.S. imports. The policy was instituted after Washington’s announcement that they would decrease tariffs on Turkish iron and steel imports to 25 percent from 50 percent recently.

According to the official decree, the list of U.S. imports includes rice, alcoholic beverages, tobacco, cosmetic products, and some motor vehicles.

The United States had doubled tariffs on Turkish steel and aluminum imports last August amid a diplomatic row between the NATO allies.
