Chile has forecast a 3% reduction in citrus exports for the 2019 season, with clementines declining the most.
The Citrus Committee of the exporters’ association ASOEX said that clementine volumes will probably drop by 8% and oranges by 3%. They think that lemon and mandarin exports will be similar to last year.
The committee said it is expecting a “very good production ” thanks to favorable growing conditions.
An 8% reduction in clementine exports would bring this year’s level to 58,000 metric tons (MT), down from 63,198MT last year.
