The quantity of scrap imported into Việt Nam is expected to rise considerably, Vietnam’s Ministry of Finance has warned.
Other countries are restricting the amount of scrap material imports, so the Ministry has warned in a draft regulation that ViệtNam could become a dumping ground.
China has banned eight different materials considered scrap and won’t allow them to be imported.
Malaysia has also banned scrap imports, and there are fears unwanted material imports may shift towards Việt Nam.
