Dublin Port Company has handled one million Ro-Ro freight units within a year for the first time ever.
The millionth freight trailer in 2018 arrived when the ferry docked at 6.30am on 20th December. The the fully booked vessel arrived from Holyhead in Wales. Every morning 13 kilometres of freight vehicles drive off the ferries arriving at Dublin Port.
The millionth freight truck signifies continued growth in Ro-Ro freight moving through Dublin, which now handles nearly 90% of Ireland’s Ro-Ro freight.
