Egypt’s agricultural exports were valued at about $1.2 billion during 2017/2018, according to Abdel Hamid Demerdash, Chairman of Export Council of Agricultural Crops and Member of the House of Representatives. He clarified that Egypt exported about 4 million tons of agricultural products, compared with 3.8 million tons in the previous year.
He added that the agricultural exports had overcome many barriers, especially with regard to import bans imposed by some countries. Saudi Arabia and Sudan have recently lifted the ban they placed on some exports.
