Dairy exports from South Korea to China are recovering quickly this year after a large reduction in 2017 due to a diplomatic dispute.
One major dairy producer is estimated to have increased its exports to China by 20 to 30 percent in the first six months of this year, compared with the same period last year.
“The exports would be similar to the total in the first half of 2016,” a company official said. “Our China exports last year dropped 30 to 40 percent from 2016 due to the diplomatic friction.”
