Exports of plastics and rubber machinery to Russia have continued to fall sharply this year, figures issued by a German industry association have revealed.
Before the Interplastica exhibition which will happen on 24-27 January 2017 in Moscow, the association put German polymer-machinery exports to Russia from January to September at €59.3m (£50.3m), which was 32.9% lower than in the same period in 2015.
With a market share of 23.6%, Germany is the second largest exporter of plastics and rubber machines to Russia – behind Lithuania (26.1 %), but ahead of China (12.6 %), and Italy (9.2 %).
This year’s decline from Germany follows a 13.7% year-on-year fall in worldwide exports of plastics and rubber machines to Russia in 2015, to €569.5m (£483.2m).
