Exports of refuse derived fuel (RDF) from the UK have shown a strong start to the year.More than 600,000 tonnes of material were exported to Europe during January and February, according to the latest provisional Environment Agency data.
This suggest that the UK export market is continuing to grow in response to demand from energy from countries lil the Netherlands, Germany and Scandinavia.
The latest Agency TFS (transfrontier of shipment) figures provide an indication that the huge export market growth since 2010 is far from flattening out entirely.
10 countries received RDF imports from the UK in January and February this year, with the largest takers of material remaining the Netherlands (280,000 tonnes), Germany (120,000) and Sweden (100,000).
