Amazon have done a deal with the Government, in an attempt to give more support to small businesses wishing to export. Last year the number of UK businesses using Amazon Marketplace to export was up by more than 90%.

The deal is a ‘Memorandum of Understanding’ with UK Trade & Investment (UKTI) which was signed the GREAT Global Investment Conference 2015 in London.

UK SMEs currently fall behind the rest of Europe in terms of exports, according to research from UKTI. Of the five million companies in the UK, only one in five currently export. This compares with one in four in France and one in three in Germany.

The agreement signed between Amazon and UKTI will help to encourage and facilitate exports for British businesses through new resources and dedicated programmes that show the simplicity of selling through Amazon’s global e-commerce platforms.
