The Russian government has extended the ban on food imports for another year. The ban on imports includes cheeses and dairy products, meat, fish, fruit and vegetables from Australia, Canada, the EU, the US and Norway.

Demand for domestically produced farm products has increased hugely due to the ban on imports. Some farmers say that they need 3-4 years to fully compensate for the reduction in imports.
