A North East brewery is preparing to bring it’s own brand of chaos to Scandinavia after being sought out to export its beers to Sweden.
Morpeth-based Anarchy Brew Co has sent its first shipment abroad. The company will now need to grow to satisfy increased demand.
“We’d decided to put the idea of exporting on the back burner as we couldn’t produce enough beer,” said the two-year-old company’s co-owner Dawn Miles. “But then a distributor from Sweden got in touch in January.
“We went through with them how we weren’t really looking to export, but they really wanted to work with us, and said they were willing to grow with us, taking whatever we could send.”
An initial delivery of kegs and bottles of their beers, which include ales like the recent Siba award winning 7% ABV Sublime Chaos breakfast stout, and 10% ABV 100 minute IPA Warhead, has already made its way across the North Sea. Drinkers’ initial reaction is said to be very positive.
