The port of Liverpool will be able to welcome the world’s largest freight shipping when its new container terminal is completed.  Over the years Liverpool has lost freight volume to southern container ports, as its lock system only allowed  access to the smaller ships. It is hoped that the new terminal will transform UK logistics, as Liverpool’s position gives it access to highly populated urban areas via the Manchester Ship Canal.
