Earlier this month the Mayor of London told the chairman of the steering group for London Shipping Week how enthusiastically he supported London as a maritime hub. He would like the event to be held at least once a year. Over 350 influential people from the shipping industry , ambassadors, as well as top government ministers and officials attended the government event. The Transport Secretary Patrick McLoughlin welcomed everyone to the reception, and spoke about London’s important role in propelling world trade.
