Freight volumes at Leipzig/Halle airport in Germany are increasing for the ninth year in succession. Over 400 000 tonnes of freight passed through the airport during the first half of 2013, which was an increase of 3.8 percent, and this increase continued into July. Lieipzig is Germany’s second largest airfreight hub and handled 863 665 tonnes of cargo in 2012.
