The West Midlands is forecast to grow its exports by 8.1% per year according to a report issued last week.  This is based on a strong hi-tech and auto manufacturing base.  The East Midlands is expected to show growth of 6.1 %. In particular, car exports to China are expected to grow by more than 10 % and to Thailand, they are expected to more than double.
