The second largest shipping company in China has ordered what will be the world’s larges container ships from Korea. The order consists of five container vessels, and delivery is expected to start in 2014. The new vessels should reduce the shipping costs of each container, giving the owners a competitive edge. Some commentators believe tat the race for larger vessels will delay the recovery of the whole shipping industry.
