During the first quarter of 2013, 5.5 million tonnes of crude oil and other energy products were handled by the port of Gothenburg, an increase of five percent over the previous year.  The total volume of freight through the port was 10.4 million tonnes, which was the same as the previous year.

Gothenburg is the largest energy port of Scandinavia; half of  Sweden’s crude oil imports enter the country here.
