A larger vessel is being commissioned for the Manchester Ship Canal due to increased customer demand. An upgrade in May 2012 has already removed hundreds of thousands of freight miles from UK roads. The new vessel will move in the region of 20 000 freight containers in 2013, with a huge saving in carbon footprint.
