Two British men have been arrested in Gothenburg, charged with bringing illegal imports of garlic into the EU.  Since the imposition of a heavy import tax on garlic from China, smugglers have been trading huge quantities of the vegetable, usually by shipping it to Norway (which does not have such an import tax) then transferring it to road freight lorries which transport it across the long border with Sweden.
