Results for the first quarter of 2012 show that Brussels airport increased its throughput of air freight by 3% over last year. The Chinese New Year holiday caused a slow start to the year, but cargo figures then grew by more than 6% in both February and March.

The airport is hoping to build direct links with airports which they are not yet serving.
