The British International Freight Association and the Freight Transport Association both expressed disappointment that nothing was done to help the industry by giving it favourable fuel prices.

The Freight Transport Association believes that Chancellor’s failure to cut fuel duty rates has condemned UK industry to suffer  even higher fuel bills and operational costs, at a time when the world price of oil stands at a four year high.  The organisation envisages many haulage companies will be unable to continue trading.
