Chesterfield College is now offering logistics training at its specialised logistics centre. There is a 40 seat conference centre and classrooms, together with a dedicated forklift training facility.
The centre has been developed in conjunction with the Coalfields Regeneration Trust, and it is hoped that it will help support the development of the East Midlands as a national logistics distribution hub.
The college received a capital grant for the building, and a further grant to support logistics skills training for unemployed people living in deprived areas. The college’s special projects manager said: “We are developing our provision to support organisational training needs throughout the logistics supply chain.’
