Cattle exports from Australia totalled 71,421 head in June, dropping slightly on the previous month, following the completion of major annual religious festivals in Indonesia and Vietnam.
Shipping activity is maintaining a solid pace with 14 vessels currently operating between Australia’s northern ports of Broome, Darwin and Townsville and the major Asian markets of Indonesia and Vietnam.
June cattle exports from Australia included 56,034 cattle exported to Indonesia, which was 21pc above the five-year-average for June, and 7624 cattle to Vietnam, down by 56pc on the five-year June average.
