The Irish State has issued 14 individual licenses for the export of goods which are capable of being used for military applications to Israel since the Hamas attacks on October 7 last year.

Responding to a parliamentary question asked by Independent TD Catherine Connolly, the Minister of State at the Department of Enterprise, Trade and Employment said the value of dual-use exports licensed by the department to Israel in the seven months since the October 7 attacks totalled €52m. The majority of these exports were ICT hardware and software.

Dual-use items are products and components, including software and technology, which can be used for both civil and military purposes. While these items can move freely across the European Union, a license is needed to export them to a third country such as Israel.
