Comexperu has announced that since 2010, mango exports have been growing at an average annual rate of 11.5%.
Peruvian exports in the first half of 2015 did not perform well, with a drop of 15.5%. At the same time, however, fresh or dried mango was worth US$ 151 million in the same period, representing an increase of 26.2%.

The Netherlands recorded the highest amount of Peruvian mango imports, at 41% of the total exported out of the South American country, or US$ 62 million. After the Netherlands, the United States and the United Kingdom recorded the most imports, with US$ 45 million and US$ 16 million respectively.

Mangos aren’t the only item of Peru’s non-traditional afro-exports which have performed well. Asparagus has been a top performer in the last few years (fresh or chilled). SUNAT data found that asparagus exports in the first half of 2015 totaled US$ 145 million, representing 17.2% more than in the same period in 2014.

In comparison with mangoes, asparagus exports have grown at an annual average rate of 7.2%.
