Proposals for an International Rail Freight park in North Lanarkshire aim to create an expanded railhead, a Distribution Park for large warehousing and logistics, and a Service and Logistics Park for smaller scale warehousing and logistics. It is hope that the development will divert long-distance freight from the motorway and trunk road network, in accordance with Government policy.
