The first freight ship to use the North East passage north of Russia is expected to arrive in Rotterdam in September. The ship carrying mixed cargo, including heavy equipment and steel is marking a new era in shipping goods from China to Europe. The new route shortens the distance significantly between China and its major export markets in Europe and the USA.
