Last week heavy snow in France caused chaos on the A1 Paris to Lille motorway, as thousands of freight trucks came to a standstill. Operation Stack on the M20 in England also had to be put into operation as cross Channel crossings were delayed or cancelled. Traffic started to move again on Thursday/Friday last week.
