Last year, private rail freight operators asked for a minimum service to be guaranteed during strikes by rail workers. Operators find it unacceptable that a strike at SNCF stops the trains of private rail freight operators. The rail network is controlled by the state agency RFF, but RFF sub-contracts the running of the network to an SNCF subsidiary. A year later, the operators’ demands have not been met.
