The port of Marseille in southern France has opened two new container freight terminals, doubling its handling capacity.  The first port in southern Europe to take advantage of barge freight, Marseille is constructing a second canal linking the terminal with the Rhone.  Shipping lines are returning to the port after years of poor productivity and industrial action
