A trade body which represents 45,000 EU-based fisherman, has filed a request with the European Commission to investigate alleged ‘dumping’ of processed tuna loin imports – mainly skipjack – originating in China.
They said that the information passed to the European authorities shows that the administration in China is granting unlawful aid and tax breaks to exporters of both tuna loins and canned tuna.
