More than 60% of all Scottish exports go to England, Wales and Northern Ireland, which is more than the rest of the world combined. Scotland’s exports to the EU are worth £16.1bn, which is less than one-third of the value of sales to the rest of the UK.
Scottish exports are estimated to be £85 billion in total, a rise of almost three per cent. The food and drink sector performed well, with whisky bringing in £4.7 billion in international exports alone.
