BUSINESSES in Dorset exported nearly £132m worth of goods last year, which represents an increase of 25 per cent. The Dorset Chamber of Commerce and Industry (DCCI) has shown that it processed 12,022 export documents between 2013 and 2014, up from the 9,604 the year before.
This means goods worth £131.7m in commercial value were sold by Dorset-based businesses into foreign markets.
The DCCI’s international trade services manager, welcomed the figures and said that companies in Dorset are playing a key role in driving growth in the county and helping to reduce the UK’s trade deficit and that exports are increasing the country emerges from the worst recession in living memory.
“With some 12,022 documents processed and nearly £132m worth of exports, it is important to build on this growth by expanding the support on offer.
