Revenue from India’s rail freight network has improved for the months April to October this year, compared with the same period last year.  Total freight revenue grew by 6.58 percent, with the railways carrying 516.91 million tonnes of freight traffic, an increase of 3.05 per cent.  The highest volume product carried was coal, followed by iron ore for exports, steel plants and other domestic users, then cement.
