China has cancelled orders for 3247 tons of US pork imports, a day after the USA had imposed a 25 percent tariff on $200 billion worth of Chinese imports.
The US Department of Agriculture says that latest cancellation of pork imports was the largest for more than a year. This is a significant setback for the export of US Pork, which may mean that the US meat sector will suffer significantly.
China and Hong Kong used to be the second largest importers of pork for the United States, and China used to be the largest importers of US soybean.
