Turkey has exported 50 million stems of cut flowers to 20 countries. The biggest importers were the Netherlands, Britain and Germany who all import large quantities in preparation for Valentine’s Day on 14 February. The day is considered crucial in terms of cut flowers exports.

The chairman of the Central Anatolian Ornamental Plants and Products Exporters’ Association, said there had been a 10 percent decrease in production in the last two months due to heavy rainfall. i

He said ; “It is a good figure for the flower industry. On Feb. 14, we make most of our sales to European countries with the Netherlands, Britain, Germany, Romania and Bulgaria dominating the top five. Exports have gone to 20 countries.”
