Bangladesh has shown robust growth in wheat import during last five financial years.
Bangladesh is now a leading wheat importer in the world; import volumes have reached a record high.

The country is the fifth largest wheat importer in the world. The other four leading are: Egypt, Indonesia, Algeria and Brazil. Bangladesh’s wheat imports have tripled in five years.

Most imports are from the Black Sea region because supply from India has reduced as it meets growing domestic demand.
