China will introduce anti-dumping tariffs on Indian and Japanese imports of ortho-dichlorobenzene, a solvent which is used in the production of agrichemicals such as insecticides.
Companies in China will pay temporary levies of 31.9 percent to 70.4 percent on imports of ODCB products from the two countries beginning on Oct. 12, China’s commerce ministry said in a preliminary ruling. The ministry originally received an anti-dumping investigation application from Yangnong Chemical Group on behalf of the domestic ODCB industry late in 2017.
Authorities will complete the probe in January 2019, although there is the option to extend the deadline to next July.
